April 12-13: Senneca Stone, Featuring Mark Darden
The Drop Comedy Club is pleased to announce, Headliner Senneca Stone, Featuring Mark Darden!!! We have 3 shows, We have 3 shows, Friday @ 9, Saturday @ 8 & 10!
Tickets are $15. (Tickets are non-transferable)
About Senneca: Senneca Stone is a stand up comic from NY. He performs nationally at Helium and Improv comedy clubs and is a writer for the satirical news site “The Hard Times.” Senneca’s comedy has been described as energetic and clever and he is set to release his first stand up special this summer.
About Mark: Mark Darden, the original latchkey kid, spent his younger years coping with the loneliness that often accompanies work & alcoholic parents, in his own fantasy world, fighting crime in the “homemade” costumes of his favorite superheroes. He grew up hoping to smash his dreams of becoming a real-world James Bond, and nearly made it while serving nine years in the military. He fought hard to overcome that double dose of childhood trauma, achieving expert level shooting accuracy and qualifying for Special Forces just in time for an injury to bring those dreams to a screeching halt. You know what they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you… revert back to achieving your dreams through the safety of fantasy. And thus, he enrolled in art school to get back in touch with his much more creative roots, and eventually harassed his way into the board and card game industry, including contributing to work for AEG, Chaosium, and Fantasy Flight Games, where he produced Infiltration, Nexus Ops, and Masques.
From there, his creativity took another shift as he began co-creating the webcomic series, “When Claws Were Cool,” which evolved into the Guano Guy comic book. And like any true child of parents with impossible expectations, he soon “took a break” from comic book creation to explore yet another creative interest likely to soon be abandoned, standup comedy. But the stage awakened something inside that couldn’t be contained by a mother’s disapproval, and before he knew it, Mark was digging deep into those childhood memories and finding the humor and silly moments within those lonely years growing up and once again, he ventured beyond the safety of the fantasy world to achieve his dreams of becoming a real-world semi-professional comedian.
Mark began his comedy career in Minneapolis, MN, cutting his teeth at open mics or shows nearly every night of the week, before his career as an air traffic controller whisked him away to what could only be referred to as a comedy desert, forcing him to do the responsible thing once again. He put his dreams on hold until he could relocate to a more vibrant comedy scene… Fast forward to 2023 and Mark landed in beautiful Elkhart, Indiana and discovered what would become his new home club, The Drop Comedy Club in South Bend, IN, where he quickly jumped back in without skipping a beat. In this short time, Mark has earned his way onto stages such as The World Famous Laugh Factory, Chicago, IL, walked onto The Sunshine Comedy Festival at Sunshine Comedy Club, St. Petersberg, FL, and became a Manager at The Drop Comedy Club, where he regularly performs, including his recent debut as a feature weekend comic. Represented by Manager, Heather Mae of The Drop Productions, Mark is sure to charm the laughs out of you with his handsome good looks and countless references/impressions of characters from all of his favorite 90’s movies and sitcoms.
