Jason Melton is a Chicago-based comedian but performs at clubs, bars, and venues from coast to the other one. His comedy has been described as unique, dark, and charming. About Munk
Munk first gained notice for his viral YouTube series "Stop It B" while performing stand up in the back of a Jamaican restaurants. His sharp political satire earned him an opportunity to do comic news commentary for New York's WPIX11, syndicated news network Touchvision TV, and eventually as a contributor for The Nightly Show w/ Larry Wilmore on Comedy Central. His stand up mixes topical material with his unique take on everything from masculinity and age, to parenting with a smartphone. He can be seen all over the country and in some of New York's top clubs including the Stand and the newly renovated New York Comedy Club. Catch him now while ticket prices are manageable. |

After a lot of thought, discussion, and general back and forth, we decided it was best to close our weekend shows for the month of July. July has historically been our slowest time, and we wanted to give our staff the opportunity to spend the summer with their families enjoying the sun and good weather, instead of a dark room eating mozzarella sticks. Not that there's anything wrong with mozzarella sticks, we just eat a lot of them.
Don't worry, though! We'll be back in August with plenty more great comedians to keep you entertained. Check out our calendar page for the most current list of comics for the fall and winter.
During July, we won't have weekend shows, but our open mic is still going every Tuesday, so if you are a comic, just want to try it out, or you're a regular looking for a comedy fix, we're still here for you during July, and it's a free show!
We're so excited to show you what we've got coming up in the fall, so don't be a stranger, and we'll see you in August!
